Why the Equinus Brace?

The Equinus brace offers unique advantages over standard braces for treating tight Achilles tendon complexes, which can cause:
- Plantar fascia problems
- Achilles tendon issues
- Heel pain

Key Advantage
Unlike over-the-counter braces that only reach your calf, the Equinus brace extends above the knee. This is crucial because:
- You have two muscle groups in your leg
- One attaches above the knee
- One attaches below the knee
- Complete stretching requires the leg to be straight
- Standard braces only stretch one muscle group when knee is bent

Step-by-Step Fitting Instructions

Initial Setup
1. Remove or loosen the upper straps
2. Loosen the two lower straps
3. Adjust the brace length:
   - Ensure top strap will be above your knee when sitting
   - Use snap lever to adjust length
   - Slide to desired position
   - Snap lever back to lock

Putting On the Brace
1. Position Your Foot

   - Place foot into the brace
   - Ensure heel is all the way back
   - Keep upper portion to the side initially

2. Secure Lower Straps
   - Fasten both lower straps
   - Pull as snug as possible
   - Verify heel remains fully back

3. Attach Upper Straps
   - Position padding correctly
   - First strap goes just below knee
   - Second strap goes just above knee
   - Ensure straps are snug but comfortable

Using the Brace

For effective stretching:
- Keep leg completely straight
- Rest foot up while sitting
- Can be used on couch or chair
- Maintain proper strap positioning on either side of knee

Important Tips
- First few applications may feel awkward
- Practice will make the process easier
- Always verify heel is properly positioned
- Maintain straight leg during stretching
- Ensure all straps are secure but not too tight
